Summer is here, and we’re inviting families to take part in something fun, educational, and impactful!
Introducing the Seeds of Hope $5 Summer Challenge!
The challenge is simple:
The next time you’re at the grocery store, give your child or grandchild just $5 and let them become a “Community Hero Shopper.”
Their mission?
Find the best food donations they can purchase with their $5 budget.
Let them:
✅ Compare prices
✅ Look for sales and coupons
✅ Calculate the best value
✅ Decide which foods might help the most families
✅ Learn how far a small amount of money can go when it’s spent thoughtfully
You may be surprised by how much food $5 can buy when kids put their minds to it!
A few ideas include:
• Peanut butter
• Pasta
• Rice
• Canned vegetables
• Mac & cheese
• Oatmeal
• Cereal
• Soup
This simple challenge teaches valuable lessons about budgeting, smart shopping, generosity, and helping others in our community.
Most importantly, it shows children that they don’t need a lot of money to make a big difference.
Imagine if 50 children took the challenge this summer.
Imagine if 100 did.
Those small acts of kindness would add up to hundreds of meals for local families facing food insecurity.
Summer can be one of the most difficult times of year for many families. School meal programs pause, grocery bills increase, and household budgets are stretched thinner than ever.
But together, we can help.
So this summer, we’re challenging our community:
Can your child turn $5 into hope?
If your family participates, we’d love to hear about it! Share a photo of your shopping adventure or tell us what your young shopper chose to donate.
Because at Seeds of Hope, we believe every act of kindness—no matter how small—can grow into something extraordinary.
❤️ Planting Seeds. Growing Hope. Feeding Families.
