Small Acts, Big Impact: Creative Ways to Help Seeds of Hope This Summer

by Jun 4, 2025Donate, Fundraising, General, Giving

As the summer months roll in, we’re so grateful for the volunteers who’ve stepped up to help us keep food on tables throughout our community. Most of our volunteer slots are full (what a great problem to have!), but there are still so many ways families, students, and neighbors can get involved—and even have fun doing it!

Turn Grocery Shopping Into a Giving Game
Challenge your family, friends, or neighbors to a weekly “BOGO & Best Deal” competition! When you’re out shopping and find a great buy-one-get-one-free deal or a deep discount, grab an extra and donate it to one of our neighborhood food collection boxes. You can find a list of what’s most needed—and where to drop it off—right here:

Host a Summer Food Drive
Want to make an even bigger impact? Organize a mini food drive! Whether it’s with your neighborhood, sports team, book club, workplace, or just your social media friends, it’s a meaningful and easy summer project. We’ve made it simple with a free downloadable toolkit to guide you through every step:

Parents—this is a great opportunity to help kids experience the joy of giving. Maybe offer a reward like a trip to the movies, a fun dinner out, or a treat like ice cream once they complete their food drive challenge!

Short on Time? Donate Online!
We get it—schedules are packed and summer flies by. If you’d still like to help but can’t organize a drive or shop for extras, a small donation can go a long way. Kids can even contribute a portion of their allowance to support a great cause. You can donate any amount (customizable!) right here:

Thank you for being part of the Seeds of Hope family. Every little effort counts—and together, we can continue to plant hope all summer long.
