And somewhere around July, many families begin hearing:
“I’m bored.”

At Seeds of Hope, we’ve always believed that young people can change communities. In fact, our organization was founded on the idea that students can make a real difference through service.
This summer, we challenge parents to hand over the leadership role.

Fill one entire donation box.
Collect 50 canned goods.
Challenge a sibling or best friend.
See who can collect the most.
They create the plan.
Make flyers.
Create a collection box.
Post on Instagram.
Make a TikTok video.
Invite friends to help.
Set a collection date.
Organize delivery.
They deliver the results.
Bring donations to Seeds of Hope.
Invite a club or youth group to help.
Learn what happens after the donation arrives.
See firsthand how their work helps local families.
And along the way, they learn skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives:
Leadership.
Communication.
Organization.
Problem solving.
Goal setting.
Budgeting.
Teamwork.
Compassion.
For high school students, these projects may help fulfill volunteer requirements and build valuable experience.
For middle school students, they can inspire future service opportunities.

At the end of summer, they may not remember every television show they watched.
They may not remember every video game they played.
